Party of Five is still in Antigua and loving every minute of it. Last week was Antigua Classics racing week. Arguably its the best place and time in the norther hemisphere to watch classic style yachts up close and personal. While seeing them on the dock is cool, our friends on Space Between were not satisfied with that. Instead they invited 1/2 the bay over to their boat and motored out into the big seas so we could actually watch the race from the center of the course.
Now for those that love classic boats, then you are in for a treat. These photos are curtesy of Kim Ellis on Mimzy and Emma Sandlin on Sandstar. Not only do they have MUCH MUCH better gear than me, but they actually know how to take pictures.
Lunch was served. As always, there was WAY more food than required.
The 3 girls had a blast. Daphnie, Emma and Hazel. Emma took quite a few of the pictures below.

Milling before the start!
This is my favorite classic boat. She was built on the small island of Carriacou (part of Grenada).
My favorite picture taken by Kim. 3 different sized boats all trying to get ahead! Although all these boats are of “classic design”, most are not classic at all. The boat in the back is sporting carbon fiber rig, sails and high tech lines. All three of the boats were moving over 11knots/hour when this picture was taken (I think the back one was topping 14).
Not all were big boats.
Adastra.. One of the fastest motor yachts in the world came out to watch the races.
